orange you glad it's spring

Yeah, it kind of clashes with my hair, but it also feels like Summer if I wear orange and bright sunshine colors. I got this vintage poncho a couple weeks ago at Fairfax flea market, and have just now taken it out of my closet. It is so very comfortable, and I love the diagonal-vertical stripes. I maybe took the sunshine a little too far with this one by wearing only oranges, yellows, and golden colors...but cheers to sunny days, am I right?

freepeople

Free People's lookbook is making me crazy! Is this from March? I am not sure. How am I supposed to purchase ALL of this? I need everything from this in my closet. What are your favorites? The models look fantastic, and I realized what my problem is after slobbering over these photos. My hair is too short. I had a very short cut a little less than 2 years ago and have been working on growing it out since..and I just can't seem to really work it well (the length, that is). I need long hair. I want long hair. Grow hair, grow.

Love the fringe tank/vest in the first photo...but seriously, way to hard to decide what the best items would be to land a spot in my already dense, chaotic closet.

voodoo lady shaking those hips and driving me crazy

Everybody's working for the weekend. I am, at least. Love love love my weekends. Another long skirt to adore. The best part about it? 5 bucks. Worth every dollar. What a great find, eh? I'm sure you didn't believe that I can have manageable hair due to my latest posts, but like I said...I do my hair on weekends. It has the tiniest bit of shine when I do, see? Teeny tiny shine, but my hair is coarse and weird so I'll take any shine. Had a great relaxing day after my crazy Insanity workout. I have had a couple of people obviously look at my "fitness" link, and message me asking about what I do exactly. Right now I am doing workouts at home from Beachbody. On top of being a hair stylist, makeup artist, blogger, and food addict, I am also a beachbody coach. I have done a couple rounds of P90X, Insanity, and Brazil Butt Lift. In about a year I lost 20 inches of body fat, and 20 pounds. For those of you that are interested in getting fit...contact me through email, or my beachbody page. You can order the videos that I use right from that page. Anyway, could I sell myself more? Enough of that for now.

Chanel shirt/sunglasses/some rings from Melrose Trading Post
Jewelry from random stores in Newport
Vintage knit skirt
Sam Edelman shoes
H&M tank
MAC Pink Nouveau lipstick

And a little fitness pic for ya. I've been working on my abs for the summer. Along with everything else, of course. But focusing on this area...since I eat pretty much only carbs/fats/and everything else crappy and delicious and my stomach has a tendency to bloat like Buddah.

yarn and bells

A sunny day! Whatdyaknow. As promised, here are my lovely and comfortable crochet bell bottoms, that I got from this lovely Etsy store. They fit wonderfully, I couldn't be more happy with them.  They were perfect for the weather today. Not too hot, and definitely not cold out. The only issue is the shoes. They are rather long bells, and I decided to wear some flat minnetonkas, so they kind of dragged on the ground. Luckily the woman that makes them does free tailoring! However...I love them too much, and probably won't end up sending them in to be taken up an inch or two. I wore some tight black shorts under them today because I didn't want to look too hoochie at the salon, though they do have closer knitting up top to cover the booty if I didn't wear the shorts. Again, pay no attention to that ratty mess of orange fur on my head... because being a hairstylist, I really should make my hair look better in photos. (I just don't feel like it, shh.) Pretty hair is for the weekends anyhow. Friday is my Thursday, so no weekend yet. Hope you all are doing wonderful in blog-land! Adios.

equilateral

My next quest is to find a triangle necklace that looks identical (or super duper close) to these. Why do I have so much trouble finding something like this? I look on ebay, etsy, amazon...no luck. Just dumb ones. Anyone have any suggestions? Preferably something NOT $500?

Sorry I haven't put up any photos in a few days. I got back from Cali and it's been only overcast, rainy, cold days. Not good for photos. Also - no time. I will hopefully have some up by this weekend, though. Gotta post about my new crochet bellbottoms, don't you think? I'm pretty stoked on them.

Also! I would like to thank Of Mice and Minutiae for honoring me with Stylish Blogger Award! That is awesome...it's crazy how much this has grown and I've only had a blog for about 2 months. Thanks, lady. Much appreciated. Off to clean. I have so many clothes that sometimes I forget I own what I have. I need to go through it all. Yikes...not fun.

my name's casey and i look down.

I felt it was appropriate to look down in all of these (though I didn't realize how redundant it was in photos) because my eyes were red and my hair sucked. I spent the evening again on the beach but this time  it felt somewhat dangerous because the tide was surprisingly crazy. One minute there would be small cute waves with dolphins, and I would smile out of joy...and the next - giant waves, when I had nowhere to escape because I had to practically go into the water anyway to get on this beach due to cliffs. Scary stuff. People die in water, you know. A dolphin probably would have saved me though.

Another beautiful day. Clothes from h&m, urban outfitters, f21. Sam Edelman shoes. Jewelry from Venice and flea markets. Be Yourself bag. Pay no attention to the tag sticking out under the fringe. Thanks. Time to go wash my hair. It's been almost 2 weeks.

it's friday friday friday

YIKES Rebecca Black will NOT leave my brain! Her song is forever on repeat in my head, I fear. But really, it is Friday...days are flying by.

I think I honestly belong on the beach. As in...I could live under a shelter made by twigs and light camp fires every night, catching my own food...so long as I get to be next to the ocean. I spent the evening in Laguna Beach where the houses on the hills were huge, and cliffs overlooking the ocean rapidly changed into no cliffs with just beautiful beach. So pretty. The sunset was surreal...purple, pink, orange, and blue with palm tree silhouettes in front of it all. I think this may be my favorite city? I never thought I would say that. I am still not sure..it was just so gorgeous and comfortable. Also, I think I am over-shopped. I know this will be short lived, and I will look back at this post thinking I was crazy...but I really don't feel the need to go shopping anymore. Anymore as in the next week or so (if that). I am happy just being on the west coast, watching movies and hanging out with old friends.

I have been rather "anti" maxi-dresses (not skirts)...until I found this one from H&M. I love the pattern, the fit, and I think I am converting over to this style of dress. Not long ago, you would have never caught me dead in a dress longer than my mid-thighs. Yuck. And honestly, I think I would never wear something in between this length and the mid-thigh length. Long or short, make your mind up, dress. Anywho, love the dress. Oversized tunic from Kaitlyn, shoes from Aldo, bandeaux from American Apparel, Jewelry from random places around Venice and flea markets.
