Buffalo tooth necklace GIVEAWAY!

The wind is INSANE in this state. Some days, there is not a single point in the day when the wind isn't blowing like crazy. Today being one of them.

So, as promised...a give-away! I actually found Miss M's blog, The Huntress awhile back and fell in love with it. Her style is pretty spot on with mine, and I love love LOVE her jewelry. Not only does she make jewelry, she also has a vintage shop here where I got this striking poncho from. I have never seen a poncho like this, and I now stick out my tongue and flip off my other dumb ponchos because I have shifted my love and attention towards this one. Like choosing a favorite sibling. This one is the best. She also made the charm bracelet that I am wearing in these photos. I needed no other accessories on my arm with this baby. I have been looking for the perfect charm bracelet and now I have it to go along with the perfect poncho adsfjhasdfasf ahhhh.

SO! On to the fun stuff. The give-away is for this so-amazingly-boss water buffalo necklace. (ps I want this necklace so I am super jealous) This give-away will last until Sunday the 15th, so just less than a week away! Some lucky jewelry lover like myself will receive this in the mail sent by Miss M herself. Yippee!

HOW TO ENTER
1. Leave a comment with your email address.
2. Follow her blog OR like her facebook here

That's it. Simple dimple. Winner receives a lovely water buffalo tooth necklace pictured below.

CB

YES, I am wearing shorts under this. I'm not like that

American Gold blouse
Sam Edelman shoes
CBdesignsNYC body chain
American Apparel crossback bra
ebay bag
random rings

Outfits like these make me even more upset and solidify my hatred for boobs in clothing (my boobs in clothing). All I want is to wear loose fitting tops and dresses without them looking like a moo-moo. Boobs make this very difficult. Also, it is very easy to look slutty when you have boobs. I had to be very careful as to not show too much cleave in this, which took a lot of effort and placing everything on my chest correctly. This is AFTER I duct taped them down (pretty normal) and am wearing a string strappy bra with zero padding. Sigh. What a weird "flaw" to have. Again, this is only a "problem" when it comes to clothing choices. I like what I like, and what I like typically isn't for my body type. I shouldn't be complaining, this just seems to bother me on a daily basis in one way or another. Regardless, I love this top. Long sleeved, and able to breathe in the heat.

The body chain is from the delightful Chelsea from CBdesignsNYC, who makes jewelry inspired by skulls, stones, and metals, just what I love. Her body chains are awesome, and affordable! I thought it went absolutely perfect with this simple bone colored blouse. Her style reminds me a lot of what you'd find on the streets of Venice Beach. I'll probably wear this body chain to death. :-)

Also. Need these boots.

Also also, I will do a post in the near future with my friends and where I live, as requested.

Don't have time to write much. I'm a busy bee right now. I do have a question for you all though. What do you want to see? Photos of my friends? My room? Work biz? Inspiration photos? Details of...whoknowswhat? I always do outfit posts and I am wondering if that ever gets old and you'd like me to throw something new in the mix. If you have any suggestions or would love to see something in particular, write here or email me. I'll try to come up with something not so TYPICAL. I'M SO TYPICAL.

Marvelous give-away coming up here soon. Stay posted. Jewelry. Jewelry that I am rather into. Heck yes.

nobletown and moth

Ignore the healing cuts all over my knuckles. I'm a hair stylist, these are battle scars.

Moth and Garnet gifted mother of pearl ring
My Salvation gifted crystal earrings
other flea market rings

I think Spring has made it's way here. Finally! With the way this years weather has been, let's hope for no mid-May blizzards. Fun weekend I've had. Last night I saw Dead Prez, which was pretty awesome. It's been awhile since I have been to a big hip hop show...the last one being Lil Wayne, and that was awhile ago. Oh, just so you all know - I have a major crush on Lil Wayne. I find his Rudy Huxtable baby face somehow to be so attractive. And that raw, crackling voice of his is SO hot to me. He is the only celeb that I have had multiple dreams about, always involving me chasing him around at some party trying to get him to pay attention to me. I never really end up successful in those dreams. But yes, this is my strange crush. A little out of the norm for what I typically go for.

The necklaces I am wearing are from Noble Town Vintage, aka Sarah, who lives in SLC and sells awesome jewelry. She holds a special place in my heart because not only do I adore her jewelry, but she is also a hairstylist like myself. Her jewelry is inexpensive for what it is, so you all should definitely give her etsy page a holler. Oh! And she sends her stuff in the raddest packaging!

Also, the mother of pearl ring I am wearing is handmade (to fit my abnormally fat sausage fingers) by Moth and Garnet of England. I am a stone and crystal freak, so naturally I love her jewelry. I am tempted to purchase this cage ring if no one else jumps on it. So awesome.

The entire time I have been writing this post my left foot has been pulsating. WTF. Why do I feel my heart beating in the bottom of my extremely ticklish foot? I keep wanting to scratch it because it feel so weird, but that is the worst place to touch. I am not sure if you guys are able to tickle yourselves, but touching the bottom of my feet results in unwarranted extreme tickle sensitivity. And it involves no laughing. Painful tickle.  Eep.

my salvation

Thrifted top
My Salvation jewelry
Vintage bracelet
Sam Edelman shoes
random flea market rings

Lately I have been somewhat obsessive over organic inspired jewelry and metals...and I was lucky enough to come in contact with My Salvation. In a previous post I had worn her triangle necklace, but that isn't enough...this gal is too good. Above I am wearing both necklaces by My Salvation, as well as the rustic arrowhead earrings. It all suits my style pretty wonderfully, and to top it off- it is all rather inexpensive! And to top THAT off, My Salvation is giving my readers a 20% discount on all of their lovely jewelry. How freaking sweet is that, people? Take advantage of that, and I will be wearing more jewelry from this store in the future so you'll get a chance to see more of what I like.

And I cannot go without mentioning this thrifted Pakistan dress/top found by, of course, my awesome friend Lacey - the one who also found me this crochet knit top while thrifting. She saw it and it (obviously) screamed my name and I could not be happier to wear it. LOVE the bell sleeves, the length, the pattern, ahhhh all of it. Too good of a find, right?

Here are some other rad items from My Salvation that I am in lust with:

My readers, get your 20% discount by entering STRAWBERRY20 at checkout at My Salvation. (make sure to enter code in all caps)

pink is the new kinda lingo

It's probably hardly noticeable to you, but got muh hair colored today - hence the straight locks. I hardly ever straighten it anymore, too sharp looking. My face is too angular for sharp hair, especially as it's growing. Today I went for a slightly less orange and more orange-red-coral-pink color. And what better than a nice pinkish taupe colored shirt to go with? I found this Fossil shirt the other day at the Salvation Army for a buck. I don't think I will be going into that location anymore though. A lady that worked there spotted me from across the store and immediately began holding up hideous "new" clothing that she thought would look good on me. I kept saying "no thanks", but then she would just find another bedazzled neon shirt to hold up to me. Yikes. Leave me alone, lady. Let me shop in peace.
Most everything I have on is thrifted besides some of the jewelry and these killer taupe vintage boots I found online at a store I can't remember. Sorry store! Can't plug your name! I really like how they are loose at the top, not suctioned to my leg. Always a nice touch.
