DESERT BABY DESERT BABY

cactus bag from ebay, etched bracelets from namibia, thrifted and diy cut off shorts, thrifted vest from a friend, ebay boots, unearthen pendulum necklace, ebay geometric necklace, melrose trading post vile necklace

I could not be itching to be back in the desert any freaking more. Is it transparent? I got this cheeseball cactus bag and geometric abalone necklace on ebay recently. My search entries for the one of the days were as follows: "palm tree bag", "cactus bag", "joshua tree shirt", "desert scene shirts", "desert purse", "snake in desert clothes", "canyon shirts", "sedona t-shirt", "arizona patches", "sun patches" and so on. I think I have a problem. Anyway, I ended up with this bag that I imagine a visor-wearing 60 year old woman with a smokers voice,  who goes to Arizona for the Winter with her third husband likely was my rival bidder. She was probably pretty cool. Like the grandma in Napoleon Dynamite, she undoubtedly owns a llama and likes to go out with her old lady friends to gamble and flirt.

AND THIS VEST. Oh, this vest. My coworker bought it for me at a thrift store and I had left it at work for the longest time until I was digging through my junk yesterday. Thank god I found it. I feel like I should probably own a magic lamp with this thing on. Genie, where are you? My three wishes would involve the desert (duh), lots of enchiladas, and fish scales.

PS. Pretty sure Stick got a hold of some DMT or something.

DIGITAL SNAKE

thrifted snake top, thrifted boots, thrifted & diy shorts, etsy belt, pyramid quartz ring c/o rejoice the hands, blue necklace and bag from melrose trading post, abalone shell rings from ebay, scorpio shell necklace from euphoria, ebay boot straps

It's late and I am delusional. That means this post will be short and simple. I got these boots at a thrift store but didn't care to wear them because they were boring. In my mind I was going to make my own boot harnesses to de-borify, but then I was hyped to see cheap bootstraps from ebay on Brit's blog. Obviously I went ahead and got my own. I had been looking in all the wrong places where motorcycle boot straps are $70+. DUH, CASEY. EBAY. So now I am a copycat and also have ebay strappies.

It was almost too hot to wear this sheer top, but I powered through it. The past couple weeks it's been 80 degrees during the day and in the 70's at night and I couldn't be more stoked. Now if only I had desert. And beach. Then I'd be one exorbitantly happy freckleface.

THE STICK AND I MADE A VIDEO

Ignore my amazing, not embarrassing nails. I am a HEAVY nail biter and clients don't really appreciate it. Fake nails are my only cure. Just look at The Stick.

LIGHT LEAK FREAK

top and cardigan c/o crash and burn, thrifted tie dye shorts and vest, boots from ebay, my salvation quill earrings, random jewelry

Now that I've discovered light leaks, I foresee it being very difficult to go back to normal-like photos.  SORRY.  I completely botched each photo with these colorful euphoric orb lights, placing them in areas where they clearly do not belong. But seriously, everything looks way cooler with a rainbow ghost light in the photo. I mean, REALLY. Hopefully some of you are on some serious psychedelic drugs when looking at my blog so maybe you can appreciate these prisms gone awry.

I was told I should get a Formspring account. I just made one HERE.  I used to have an account long ago, but have forgotten my information and was turned off by people I know asking dumb questions like "if you had to drink anyone's pee, would it be mine?" Yeah, I gave up. So, if you have any Q's, holla holla. If not, totally rad too. I am not sure what I would want to ask me. Maybe what I ate today? I love talking about food that I ate.

CUT THE SLEEVES OFF

entire outfit thrifted and diy except for jewelry from ebay, my salvation, unearthen

I would say about half of my clothing is altered in one way or another. While thrifting in Orange County I found these snake print pants which I cut into shorts and this striped top that had a hole which inevitably resulted in me violently snagging the crap out of the rest of it. One of the thrift stores out here had a ton of denim jackets, so naturally I bought one FOR A DOLLAR and cut the sleeves off. The boots were found at the same thrift store that day. The good thing about the midwest is that hardly anyone shares my taste in clothing so I have a plethora of things to choose from when thrifting. Nothing is too picked over and everyone is just now getting rid of their 90s clothing and everything else rad. Hooray for me.

Another hooray is this:

Since I am borderline obsessed with hot weather, this makes my heart flutter and my mouth salivate. BOOYA, WINTER. Good thing I cut up that denim jacket since I won't be needing jackets anymore!

Here are a few of my favorite denim vests that I have bookmarked and favorited over time. Click on the photo to be linked to the item.

I think I'll hustle all the rest of the jackets, cut off the sleeves, and sew/rip/bleach away.
