MOJAVE BEETLE, MEET MIDWEST CICADA

dust & drag american flag robe c/o laced with romance, asos boots, metalsugar cicada ring, shorts c/o lenni vintage

Along with raw metals and gems, I really enjoy wearing insects. Real and faux. If I didn't do what I do, I would love to be an entomologist...or an archaeologist. Or a geologist. Cave tour guide? Keep dreamin, Casey. Got the beetle bracelet in the southwest desert at a shop, and this cicada ring from Metalsugar. Bugs sure do look sweet in rose gold. Feels sweet too. Light as a freakin feather, this ring. This robe is in rotation every single day. It's too hot to wear it out yet, but I wear it every morning while I'm getting ready and at night when I am all snuggly with my cactus. Nope, but I did snuggle a cactus in my hands last week like an idiot. Assumed that the only thorns were the big visible ones. Didn't realize until after my hands had about 30 small hair size thorns stuck in them that I was wrong. Yowza. Like tons of little slivers. DON'T GRAB A CACTUS. Words of wisdom right here.

Do you guys actually read this yakkety yak that is my blog? I assume the same 5 people check it out regularly, and I am just writing to crickets otherwise. Hellooooo (hello hello hello echo echo).

Well, it's still most definitely summer here. We've been in a "heat dome" for a few weeks now. Not complaining. Hope it stays forever. I will leave you with a "vintage" summer tune. If you get the same Allstate advertisement that I see when I watch this, I met that guy. Semi partied with him here. He is into 80s music and cocaine when he's not doing these commercials.

  3. Love that cicada ring!
I always read what you write. I hear what you're saying though. I keep my blog entries super short because I think "who is going to read some long ass paragraphs about my outfit"
Funny story about that Len guy. That song is sooo saccharine!
(ps- so glad you liked the bag!)

  11. Not going to lie, was really hoping for the Allstate guy. boo. I know not to mess with Cacti from "Fools Rush In" where he falls in the cactus and comes home drunk with Salma's brothers and says, "Lucy I"m home." Highlarious. See, someone does read your rants.

  19. Chirp. Chirp. Chirp. Just teasing. Great pics, I think that rosy golden bug may just come to life and make a home in your cozy kimono. Also, it must be that cactus feign coziness just to get at girls looking for something snuggly. Hmm

  25. lol I don't think I've seen the alstate commercial, unless it is the one with the guy who is like pretending to be other people to show how accidents can happen? Anyways pretty cool that you met him.
I love that ring, insects are suuuper cool looking, and as rings they are awesome, especially because they can be relatively life-size which is not what happens when you make other animals on rings.
I hope you are having a good weekend! I am wearing the crystal necklace from your giveaway, right now.
P.S. I do read the writing on your blog.
