This sweater reminds me of something I would have worn in the late 90s, probably paired with army green bellbottoms and Chuck Taylors, with loads of hemp necklaces. Since I am seemingly traveling backwards with my aesthetic tastes, here I am pretending I'm 15 again. It's really is strange to think back to what I used to love in fashion, and how I generally end up shaking my head in shame years later when I look back at pictures. Come a few years after the shame-fest, I find myself interested those same previous fashion philosophies again. Maybe it's because I don't want to grow up.
On that note, you probably noticed my highlighter hair? Did that on a hair A.D.D. whim last week. Not with a highlighter, with color. It's funny, though. I used to color my hair with actual markers when I was a teenager. That was all great and dandy until gym class when I would sweat green ink.
To high-five the good old times, here is a 90s jam that I always loved, courtesy of Empire Records.
Dude, I am so evolving backwards with my fashion too. I completely forget that I'm twenty-one. My whole point of going on a fashion conquest last year was to grow out of youth-style and accept the fact that I had turned twenty and needed to grow up. That lasted all of a few weeks, when I stumbled upon Madeline's blog and a ton of other amazing bloggers (INCLUDING YOU), and I never looked back.
ReplyDeleteI think it's awesome though, I'd rather be mistaken for a sixteen year old than grow up. Besides, I'll forever fit into junior's sized clothes, so I don't have much of a choice either way.
That sweater is awesome! And I'm glad I'm not the only one who tried to colour my hair with highlighter xD
ReplyDeleteI love your hair!
ReplyDeleteLove the sweater AND your hair.
ReplyDeleteI love the hair!! My friend is about to do this and I love the idea. You always have the best jewelry.
ReplyDeleteI'm really liking the highlighter hair! I totally colored my hair with markers when I was in junior high. Did you go to Irving? Maybe it was an Irving thing?? LOL
ReplyDeleteI love looking at your photographs and trying to figure out where they were taken. I have no idea where this is, but I recognized Irving from a week or two ago and then the capital a little while back also. I makes me miss Lincoln!! :/ I'm visiting over a short weekend this summer for my 10 year high school reunion. Where do you like to thrift? I'm definitely fitting time in to go on a thrifting adventure while I'm in town!
xx Adrian
Love the hair & the channeling back to your old 90s style. What lip color is that?? It looks like the perfect pinkish purpleish fuchsia I've been looking for!
